My name’s Gabby & I’m from Oakland. I’m a novice snowboarder & try to head to the snow as often as I can. Honestly, I’m not the best rider can’t do any sweet jumps or tricks, but I try my heart out every season to improve my skill every year. The parks in Tahoe are pretty sweet and id love the chance to win the trip to Colorado to board for the first time in another state and for the TWS Rider’s Poll Awards! The chance to hob knob with the snowy elite will be an absolute honor and I promise to wear a cute dress and not hope to not fall in my heels. Plus, to see Tom Burt get the lifetime Legend Award should be amazing. Please vote for me, I’ll take great pics & have an epic time!

I think that I should be chosen for a simple reason, I love snowboarding, I have been riding since 1990, I am 27, and I am more in awe of snowboarding, and the mountains themselves now than ever. I have spent time in all kinds of places throughout the world, with and without the army, and the mountains is the only place I have found that I feel free. I have wanted to ride Colorado since I was about ten. My brother and I have ridden all over BC, Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, but I have never had the chance to experience what Colorado has to offer. If I were to be selected, I would ride as hard as possible for all of the people out there who have also never had the chance to Slash the pow of colorado.

While my primary sport is surfing (see attached pics) I also used to love to ski. What I really want to do is try snowboarding (dovetails to my love of surfing of course). I have never had the chance to try snowboarding and winning this trip would finally give me the opportunity to shred some powder!!! I haven’t hit the slopes in many years since I had kids and now live in Florida, but being in Colorado would help me reconnect to the colder cousin of surfing. I’m a fun guy, well spoken, personable and would be a rockin rep for ASN on this trip. I have mad photography and video skills and would provide cool posts on the ASN blog about my experiences.
My life philosophy is to try new experiences, stay young at heart, respect and love all the people you meet on da journey and most of all enjoy anything that you do to the fullest! Winning dis trip would provide me with yet another unique chance to live in da moment and share the vibe with my brethren!
So – vote for me and send an old fart to da mountains to show da young dudes that over 50 doesn’t mean you’re washed up – it means you’re just getting started YO!!! Props to ASN for all the support they provide to the businesses that supply da cool stuff to action sport aficionados like me (and all of you reading this post!!!) and for making this crazy opportunity possible! Get off da couch and go surfing, snowboarding, swimming, biking, kite surfing – whatever floats your boat – get outside and shred!!!

Snowboarding in Colorado has always been a wild dream of mine. I grew up in a town out in the woods of central Massachusetts right next to a small mountain called Mt. Wachusett. I’ve worked there for years, I love the snowboard season. This mountain peaks at an elevation of 2,000 ft. and has mostly man-made snow. Most people joke that it is technically a hill, not a mountain. Winter Park Resort has a top elevation of 10,700 ft., over five times higher. I used to take weekend trips up to Vermont and Maine to ride Sugarbush, Killington, Loon, (blah blah name a few more big places) but never anything as amazing as Colorado riding. For the past 3 years I have lived in Burlington, Vermont as a college student at Champlain College. I’m here for Graphic design and I am hoping to get into the business of designing snowboards, skateboards, and even clothing and advertisement for this type of industry, your type of industry. Being in college paying for books and rent and all my other expenses leaves me little extra to travel. I have a pass to Sugarbush Mt. and that keeps me interested through the winters but this trip to Colorado would be the craziest thing I’ve ever done. It would be a life changing event. You couldn’t find someone that would appreciate this more. So I guess that’s my story and I hope you guys think I’m your guy.

Wow! Super excited to be a possible finalist. Avid surfer, skater but need more snowboarding! The past 2 years have been challenging to say the least…been laid off twice and am still trying to find solid ground. Nevertheless, I’ve managed to stay absolutely stoked, taken the extra time I have to look deeper inside of myself, to help other people and to finally “get” what life is really about…and it’s not about what we have…it’s who we have. It’s family, friends and lending a hand to someone worse off than you. I’ve been fortunate enough during this rocky period to gain something more valuable than a paycheck and for that, I’m eternally grateful, but man, winning this trip would be epic! So, why should you pick me? Because I’m due for a little luck and I can promise, every second of this adventure will be savored. Thanks for your consideration. Enjoy the Ride!

I would love to win this trip to Colorado to represent ASN and its followers. As an avid skier and snowboarder since the age of 3, twenty five years ago, every winter, and everyday on the mountain reminds me of all the great opportunities life has to offer. There is no better feeling in the world than getting off the first early morning chair and taking in the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer. The ability to enjoy the outdoors and to make your own action, enjoying every minute of the outdoor playground with quality family and friends. I want to go to Colorado to have fun and be stoked on life and action sports. I would want to tell everyone how I got here and my passion for living the life of an action sports enthusiast gave me that chance. I would love for the people to vote for me, because I want to share my smile and my stoke with everyone else who loves the feeling of being able to enjoy life to the fullest on a board or skis or anything else where snow and the idea of having fun brings a smile to the face. I hope to see you all in Colorado, and if not there, you’ll find me somewhere in the snow filled mountains, looking to share the enjoyment that life and our environment provides for us. Thanks. Keep the good vibes alive.

I want to win and go to Colorado because I have been an action sports nut my entire life. I started skateboarding when I was 5, was a total fish in the ocean and surfed for the first time when I was 7, bought my first snowboard a Burton Performer the year after it was invented and basically live to do extreme sports. My dvr is full of feul tv recordings. All my friends know I am a total BRO and I am even sponsored by BRO-CAl.com. I fall asleep every night thinking of waves I have ridden or plan to ride and my wife still doesn’t understand why I have so many surfboards or why I surf for so long almost every day. Surfboards are like golf clubs and I need a lot to ride the way I want to. Ride a RAT, ratsurfboards.com. Yeah BRAH!!!

I just got the kids down, twin girls three and a half years old, I’ve been up late for the past week doing papers for my Masters in Special education and I’m close to finishing my degree. I passed up a trip to Bali this year beacuse of school and have not had a break or a vacation for a long while. I would love the chance to be voted for a trip to Colorado but I have a feeling this is a little too late.. I’m originally form Toronto Canada and moved to California back in 90′ I met my wife in San Diego and we moved north to the Bay Area. I learned to snowboard and surf in California I love them both. surfing is my passion but snowboarding is a close second. I worked one season in Lake Tahoe at North star in 97′ it was a fun experience and really pushed my riding. in the last five years I’ve only made it to the Mountains once, if that, per year. I really would love to get on a real mountain and spend some quality time in Colorado. As I have never been there it would be a welcomed experience I heard once you ski there you are ruined…..
We really want to keep these Giveaways spirited but upbeat. Please don’t trash talk contestants, accuse anyone of cheating, or indulge in any negativity. If you have any concerns, you can email ASN at info@ActionSportsNow.com. The idea here is to celebrate action sports and give cool stuff away to people who love action sports, so let’s agree not to hate.
