ASN Colorado Trip Giveaway: Day 4 Recap

So we finally arrive at Copper Mountain around 10:45am.  What was normally a 2 hour ride turned into a 3 ½ hour ride due to weekend mountain traffic.  I have lived in Atlanta and the LA area which are known for their horrendous traffic, but Denver took top honors today.  Bumper to bumper traffic for miles translated into no fun at all for the ASN crew.

We got our lift tickets and the traffic that was on the road was also in the lift lines.  Lots of people like to ski or ride in the Denver area on a weekend, lots.   So we jump on the lift and head up to the top of the mountain.  We ended up on the backside of the mountain and decided to take a lift back to the top when we scouted out this ridge line with an untouched powder field.  Hiking the ridge was the decision made and so the adventure to ride in powder began.  After about 45 minutes of hiking and reaching an elevation of 12,409 feet, we found our drop in spot.  The rest is history…

Best powder of run of our lives was the consensus.  From the top of Mount Chief to Bradley’s Plunge then to Schaeffer’s ending at the bottom of Iron Mask was our run. It was about 2 feet deep and we rode for almost 6 minutes straight.  Absolutely priceless.

All in all, this trip has been epic.  To quote Brian Case, “Honestly, it was the most incredible vacation I have ever had.  Four days of hard core riding, meeting new friends, and building camaraderie.  What more could you ask for?”

Big thanks to Transworld Snowboarding, Winter Park Resort, and our winners Brian Case and Ryan Baker.  This has set a new bar for ASN Trip Giveaways.

Stay tuned for a video wrap up of the ASN Colorado Trip Giveaway in the coming weeks.

I started ActionSportsNow (ASN) out of the love I have for action sports. There isn't a time in my life that I can not remember being on a board and now having the ability to introduce this experience to my children is amazing. We do this because we love it and we love working with small business owners in helping them grow their businesses. Without them, these industries wouldn't have the culture and spirit that they do today!
