Equipment
I just got a Canon 7d which is sick! Full HD and video and 8 fps. Stoked on it. Also have a Canon 40d with a SPL water housing for it, and a little Canon G12. I got a Canon 100-400mm super telephoto which is sick as well.

Tell us about your favorite shop
158 Surf & Skate. Good times, good people, good gear, and good photos…..;)

How did you get into taking pictures?
Hmm, I got my first film camera when I was like 13 years old, saved up for it all summer by bussing tables. Then I switched to digital eventually and started taking photos of my brother and my friends surfing and it went from there. I just like taking photos of whatever is around me.

Best trip that you have ever been on?
Hard to say what my best trip would be, I have memorable photos I taken from every trip I’ve been on. I just got back from Costa Rica after being there for about 3 months. Got some great photos and had an amazing time. I was only supposed to be there for 2 weeks, but ended up staying for a few months… Pretty sick times! Got to meet a lot of awesome people along the way.

Favorite athlete to work with?
I don’t think I could pick a favorite person to shoot with, but anyone who is stoked on getting the shot or video clip. Someone who is working with me and getting super psyched on it, that’s what gets me pumped up even more. It’s sick when you get a sick clip or shot when working together with someone. Anyone who is stoked on getting up, getting out there, and having a good time is my favorite to work with.

What are your favorite shots- tell us a little back ground on them: Who, What, When, Why kind of deal.

This photo is from last winter.  Super cold, strong off shore winds, but the clouds are sick in the background.  I love photos that have something other than just a super close up wave shot.

This is from not so long ago down on Pea Island, Mark Dawson.  This day wasn’t epic or anything, but a fun group of surfers to shoot were out.  Dawson doing a sick air, super fun dude to shoot.  Always doing sick stuff in and out of the water.

This is from 2 years ago at Duck Pier. Sick day with just me and a friend there.  I love pelicans, the ocean, and waves- this photo brings it all together.

This shot was from Costa Rica this past trip. It is my brother surfing in the photo.  This image is sick because of the lens glare and everything just makes it look artsy, and cool.  Something different to look at than just a normal surfing shot, like I said before, I try to make photos that are not just about the surfer or the surfing. Love making a sick image out of it.

This shot is of Jesse Hines getting a sick super big barrell during Hurricane Earl.  Shooting from the pier, you could feel the whole thing shake with each set coming through… it was crazy how good it looked this day.  The day before the ocean looked 120% different, crazy how that thing works.

I started ActionSportsNow (ASN) out of the love I have for action sports. There isn't a time in my life that I can not remember being on a board and now having the ability to introduce this experience to my children is amazing. We do this because we love it and we love working with small business owners in helping them grow their businesses. Without them, these industries wouldn't have the culture and spirit that they do today!
