I went minimal this year by only bringing one surfboard with me whenever I surf. Sounds dumb, but I have had way more fun bringing one board and riding it no matter what the conditions are. It beats the hell out of over analyzing what shred stick to ride, with what fins, with whatever. So I have begun to expand that philosophy to the rest of my life. Smaller wardrobe = more giveaways to charitable organizations. Less computer = more books. Shorter hair = less time in front of mirror. Minimal = more happiness.
