Rogelio WINS!!!!

The polls were closed down at 5pm EST on Sunday night leaving Rogelio Espinoza victorious!  Rogelio Espinoza amassed a total of 191 votes for himself while Ippei Morita came in second place with 157 votes.  Rogelio, who supported Mainline Skate Shop, now has $500 to spend at his favorite shop plus a ton of Bamboo SK8 gear to break in!

Below is Rogelio’s entry to the Bamboo SK8 giveaway:

Bamboo is one of the most Eco-friendly plants out there, its growth rate is about 40 inch’s a day depending on its soil. Not only does bamboo have an expanded growth rate but the material in which it is made is really durable. Maple on the other hand takes about 40-60 years to fully mature, cutting maple is dangerous to our Eco-system. Being that one tree takes about 40-60 years to fully grow, if many trees are cut down that may damage the Eco-system not only for us but the animals in which need maple trees to survive as their habitat, while bamboo has a fast growth rate more Boards are able to be produced within a 40-60 year period rather than maple in which it has to be matured 40-60 years before it is ready to be cut down. More Boards would be produced within those 40 years rather than how many boards, would ever be produced with the maple tree. Not only would this be creating a bigger profit for the companies that produce bamboo boards, but creating long lasting boards in which the consumer is also satisfied. Bamboo boards are surely the most Eco-Friendly way to go.

Stay tuned to see what Rogelio gets with his $500!!!

I started ActionSportsNow (ASN) out of the love I have for action sports. There isn't a time in my life that I can not remember being on a board and now having the ability to introduce this experience to my children is amazing. We do this because we love it and we love working with small business owners in helping them grow their businesses. Without them, these industries wouldn't have the culture and spirit that they do today!
