When and why did you start M & M Water Sports?
We started up in 1989 as a small pro shop in Salt Lake City, Utah just chasing a dream of spending more time on the water and doing what we love for a living. BoardCo became our online extension of our brick and mortar shop.
What is your favorite part of running BoardCo?
My favorite part about running BoardCo.com is being able to interact with people dealing with something that they love. Every day being able to stoke people out on the latest gear, help people improve their riding, collaborate with others in the industry to build a better community and environment add up to make me so happy that I am blessed enough to not have to work in a collection agency call center.
What’s the local scene in Springville, UT? Any spots worth mentioning?
Utah Lake is about 10 minutes away from our warehouse and though it is a 4 hour drive, Lake Powell is the greatest place on the face of the earth.

Definitely one of our local Utah ski resorts, take your pick.
What’s the most exciting development in action sports in the past year–from your perspective?
Cable Wakeboarding has made an even bigger impact this last year. With more parks, both full system and System 2.0 lakes, wakeboarding is becoming more and more accessible to people that haven’t had the chance to enjoy it yet. It is a big change for the wake industry, but also for action sports as a whole as wakeboarding starts to move from a non-conventional or difficult to access sport into a more mainstream way to have fun.
