This would be a great add on to my kiteboarding quiver for days that are not windy enough. Basically anyplace that has water.

Schandra Loveless from Cleveland, TN
I’ve been a whitewater raft guide for almost 10 years now. There’s nothing like the rush of adrenaline that comes when heading into a rapid. I have also guided canoe trips for kids as a field instructor with an outdoor company. I tried whitewater kayaking, but couldn’t master the roll, so I stick to the funyaks! If I could get my hands on a paddle board and all the gear to go with it, I’m sure I’d put it to good use and become a promoter of the sport. I’ve dreamed about trying it in Hawaii or New Zealand, somewhere exotic, but would be perfectly content cruising along in the lake nearby.

Michelle Roper from Flowery Branch, GA
My dream spot to SUP would be Hawaii. I can imagine myself on the board, paddling along the blue waters and enjoying the amazing views of the islands.

Steven Schumacher from Longmont, CO
Definitely Japan so I could grab some sushi.
I want to learn SUP, which would make the outdoors possible for people with differing abilities. If I win, I pledge to start up a SUP club at grad school next fall. I will focus on environmental causes and work to help individuals with needs. This won’t be just my journey, but my community too! My DREAM spot is to stand up paddle in ICELAND where I can stand up paddle alongside beautiful natural landscapes.

Andrea Vogt from Northfield, VT
My dream spot for SUP would probably be Venice, Italy. I think it would hilarious to pretend to be a Gondola. But besides that I would just love to cruise down through Venice and see the beautiful city on the water doing what I enjoy SUP. I absolutely love SUP and I want one so badly because I actually want to incorporate the two things I love: SUP and my career with Personal Training. I think it would be so awesome for clients to experience the relaxing and fun time of SUP and have a great workout. I am a college student and I would love to have my own SUP because then I can SUP all summer down in Cape Cod and have the time of my life.

Zach Jones from Holly Ridge, NC
Guys, I’m gonna have to go with Splash Mountain. Yes, I DO mean Disney World. Imagine it…. All those times you’re out in the water wishing you could afford one of those fancy waterproof Ipod casings… well I say we rig the joint to have all of those fancy characters singing us something a bit more upbeat…ASG maybe? Old school Punk? I don’t know. Give us a jukebox type thing to let us select what gets up amped.
Island hopping in Bocas, or cruising over a reef in Rotan would be nothing short of dreamy, but imagine yourself in a dark tunnel with a bunch of robotic rabbits and possums singing along with you as you slowly make your way up to the top (now if we could hook it up to the track for added assistance… umm cheating I know, but could be helpful at times).
It’s been AGES since I’ve been there, but I think you get a few small drops along the way to help build the anticipation for the big one that you just know is right around the corner.
Don’t know why I remember this, but right before the BIG drop, there are these wild looking vultures that say something about going to your “Happy Place”… click.click.click.click…… and down you go.
As a surfer, do we have any place where we are happier than being out in the water? Not really (though we will never tell our wives that… kidding)
Now, I haven’t figured out how one would stick that drop, but that automated camera that they have would probably be the only shot you would ever have of scoring the cover of SURFER mag. For once in your life you would just maybe experience the rush some of these adrenaline junkies get when dropping into heaving Chopes, Mavericks, or one of those Portuguese bombs that Garrett found…
In the end, you can hit up the gift shop and check out all of the Tube faces of your fellow surfers pop up on the photo screens. If you want, you could even be kooky enough to have you photo printed on a t shirt or coffee mug to prove that you “survived.”
Ok Sorry… I went a little too far with this. My thing is we have been promised surf parks for how long now? Well nothing will ever compare to the true experience that we get from Mother Nature. So as that robotic parrot asks you about your “happy place” right before you take the plunge… chances are your mind takes you back to a clean 3-4 ft day with your boys back home rather than the real drop in front of you.
Wow… I suddenly want go to Disney World… thanks ASN!

I want to SUP in Saint Martin, the Caribbean, or the Galapagos Islands and see iguanas and the extravagant wildlife. I’m a marine biologist major at California State University Long Beach. My dream is to travel the world and see everything it has to offer. One of my passions while on the water is seeing the beautiful scenery and amazing environment. I mean, what better way than to glide over the water peacefully on an SUP while getting a great workout. I want to see all the turtles, dolphins, sharks, and blue footed boobies (it’s a bird of course!). Thank you for the opportunity! Hang ten amigos!
I am completely new to SUP. I took lessons on the North Shore and fell in love. I would love to master this here in San Diego.

Derek Allison from Broomfield, CO
My dream spot would be at High Alpine Lake. The scenery is gorgeous, and the accessibility keeps it that way. With that said, hence why it is a dream, because I am not carrying that thing up there!

Brandon Bethea from San Diego, CA
I run a shark-diving charity for cancer survivors. I have dreamed of taking them to La Jolla Cove in San Diego to SUP around leopard sharks or further up the coast to “stand up” next to big blue or gray whales!
