Ben Waltz from Camp Hill, PA

Learn how to surf…Finally

Chris Pulliam from Lancaster, CA

Well, I live out here in California so obviously the first thing I would do with my shred stick is start shreddin!!!! I go to the beach all the time but I don\’t have my own board. I always have to borrow my bros and after a while that gets kinda old. It would be so sick to have my own board especially a sick one from Green Room!!!!

David Lawless from Kure Beach, NC

Masking tape and spray paint. DIY artwork rules!

Emily Plummer from Charlotte, NC

Kiss it, introduce it to the fam and then name it something badass.

Hannah Hackley from Leland, NC

Give it to my awesome boyfriend!

Jacob Soloperto from New Smyrna Beach, FL

The first thing I’d do with a brand new surfboard is hop in the river with it and paddle down to my girlfriend’s house to show her and her brother. Then the three of us would go down to shark shallows with it and they would finally believe me when I tell them I can do airs.

Jared Schmidt from Charleston, NC

…Ascend the salty peaks of the living sea to stand atop the crest, victorious, and climactlically jaunt the surge back home – eager to conquer another tide.

Joi Lee from New York, New York

I can almost guarantee that I will the be only African-American female sitting on the NYC A train headed to Rockaway Beach with a custom Green Room surfboard.

Jon Kiskinis from Rye, New Hampshire

I admire the board’s shiny and sleek design which allow me to ride mother nature’s sweet curves. Then I wax her up real good until the bumps reach perfection. I don’t know about you, but then I go test it out hoping there are waves!

Kristine Turner from Wilmington, NC

Wax it up and take it out!!!

MacGregor Smith from Haverhill, MA

Pull it out of the box, put day-glo wax on it, put in the fins, check the reports, stick it in the back of the truck and head to the beach. If there are no waves I sit and cry! This gets sympathy from passing hotties, take one of them home. Maybe the surf will be up in the morning!

Mark Philbrook from Camarillo, CA

wax it up and take my wife out to teach her to surf!!!

Mike Dayan from Isla Vista, CA

Take it out to my local spot and tear into as many waves as possible.. without being annoying or getting in anyones way of course.. Its been three weeks since i\’ve been out in the water because of a head to bottom concussion with lingering symptoms. Win it or not, i’m grateful for the life and mind I still am able to have and i’m just stoked that I’ll be able to get back in the water soon. Shockah!!

Miles Hogan from Santa Barbara, CA

i would surf it even if it is flat

Mitch Thomas from Wilmington, NC

What’s the first thing I’ll do with a brand new surfboard? Paddle out into our perfect-as-usual Wrightsville Beach conditions, get the standup barrel of my life, get spit out and then claim the hell out of it. That or get dropped in on in drifty thigh high chop. The first scenario is more likely though, I think.

Nick Manbert from Temecula, CA

Sleep with it by my side before waking up for some dawn patrol. Give her a fresh coat of wax while sipping some coffee, and take her out to rip.

Nicole Rubenstein from Colorada Springs, CO

Hug it, kiss it, and then take a pic of myself with it and post it to Facebook and make all my friends very jealous. Then ride it.

Oscar Azevedo from South Lake Tahoe, CA

I would surf my couch and then practice paddling by poaching the pool down the street!  No wax.

Robbie Poznansky from  Kailua Kona, HI

My girlfriend always appreciates it when I allow her to check out my equipment.  When i get a new stick, I encourage her to run her hands gently along the length, feel the thickness, measure it’s girth, squeeze it to gain a measure of its stiffness or flexibility. Nothing pleases me more than when I see that sly smile of approval appear on her face as she licks her lips as she anticipates the future pleasures that lie within this new aquisition.  She asks if I want her to “wax my stick”.  Not wanting to appear too anxious, I say, “Only if you want to.”  With a mischevious gleam in her eye, she grabs a bar of Sex Wax, and begins to methodically lay down a base course, beginning with long, deiberate strokes up and down the entire length of the board.  She then applies gentle passes crosswise. diagonally, and finishes up with a delicate circular pattern.  Noticing a smudge of dullness on the all important point of entry, the tip, she  blows on it softly &nd buffs & polishes it to a high gloss.  Always concerned both of our needs & safety, & not wanting to surf without protection, she unwraps and carefully applies a Nose Guard to that lovingly polished tip.  For extra safety, security, & control, I install a set of Protec fins with flexible but firm leading & trailing edges.  As I am attaching the leash, my girl expresses her admiration for my dedication to discipline that never allows her, or my board, to stray too far. I then slide my entire package into a sock.  We head out to the beach with my new stick in one hand, and my other arm affectionately wrapped, around my girl.  Most of the time though, my board is too large to hold with just one hand.  My girlfriend always just smiles, wraps her arm around it & joyfully accepts the load.  Surfing is highly competitive, and like most men approaching mid-life, I am cocerned about waning prowess over time, and am prone to bouts of performance anxiety.  Hence, I always tend to overcompensate.  Utilizing all the locker room ettiquette I aquired during my 6 years trying to get through high school, I discretely check out all the other guys equipment I see at the beach.  I look over at my girl & I see she’s checking them out too!  We catch each others eye, & simultaneously giggle at each other at the realization that once again, my new board is the biggest one on the beach.  Still wrapped in it’s protective sock, my new board is attracting curious onlookers.  A female surfing aquaintance walks by carrying an obviously new board wrapped in a sock, pauses, & comments on my board.  I say, “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”  We unwrap oour boards, & her eyes grow wide in disbelief as she sees mine. “Rhat’s the most impressiove & unbelievably awesome one I’ve ever seen!”, she exclaims in obvious delight.  My girl takes the initiative % says, Yeah, & he really knows how to use it too!”  She then invites this cutie over to our house apres surf & promises that I’ll show them both some new tricks that I know with my new surf leash.  ”That sounds really great, but first I need to get wet”, she replies, and heads off into the surf.  Always the gentleman, I insist on satisfying my woman’s needs first-so I allow her to take my new board out first.  I know that nothing excites her more than having a hot new stick.   stick between her legs.  She lives by the motto, “If it swells, ride it!”  As the first wave of bliss approaches, she turns, paddles, stands, & rides that beast to smooth, frothy & foamy finish all the way to the beach. I remain secure in the knowlege that the two of us will be surfing tandem shortly. What a day.  Life just doesn’t get any better than this!

Robert Tucker from Barnegat, NJ

After receiving a freshie from the shaper I rub my hands along the rails and deck until they are raw. Then I serve one meal on it like it were a giant plate before finally waxing it up. Never broke a board with this ritual! Stoked

Sandra Sullivan from Mooresville, NC

I wouldn’t start talking 40+ year old women into getting out and trying surfing..so i would be the only lady out there with all the boys, girls and men. :)

Sarah Lavoie from Wilmington, NC

Hm the first thing I do with a brand new surfboard? Aside from hugging it with pure joy? Wax it up and ride it of course! What good is a brand new surfboard gonna do sitting in my apartment all day, talk to my other boards? My cat could use it as a jungle gym like he does with our two longboards but… I think I’d rather have all the fun to myself by riding it down at Surf City pier, showing it off so everyone will ask, “who shaped that?!” and I’ll point them your way.

Tarrah McIntyre from Huntington Beach, CA

Walk a block to the water and surf by the Huntington Beach Pier. No more foamie for me. :-) that would be awesome! I need to upgrade my board to upgrade my skills.

Travis Parker from Cathcart, WA

I will go on a vacation as my graduation present from my parents. I will drive down the coast from washington to Santiago california. I live in washington and me and some of my friends are going to take a road trip down and stay with my aunt! this would make the trip the best experience of my life! Really hope its mine :)

Zachary Jones from Holly Ridge, NC

If I was able to win me a custom board from green room i would do my best to let the stick live up to its name, and park it right where its shaper intended it to go….. right in the green room.
I am a firm believer of that when you receive, you must in turn give…. As soon as that thing shows up to the house I would pass an older board to the most stoked looking kid on the beach and hope that one day they can find the same pure enjoyment that I have found from my time in the water.
Ive ridden a few of Jimmy’s boards and would love to have one to call my own!
Come on ASN Help me out!!

Zac Trout from Farmington, AR

I will take it on my very first surf trip! I’ve been dying to surf for a couple of years now, and wakesurfing is all I’ve gotten to do, since I live in Arkansas. I may be visiting some friends in Europe late this summer, and I would love to use it there!!!!
