Born on September 30th, 1994, Lakey Peterson has been ranked #3 by the Association of Surfing Professionals in North America and #7 on the ASP Women’s World Ranking. Born in California, Lakey was just 5 years old when her parents rounded up their children to set out on a year-long, around the world adventure. It was during this trip when Lakey learned to surf while they settled in Manly Beach, Australia for three months. Lakey earned her nickname “Lakey Legend” from the locals for effortlessly catching waves on her boogie board. Lakey was destined to spend her life in the water when her mother Sue (a former Olympic swimmer) competed in the Santa Barbara Triathlon while 8 months pregnant with her! Lakey was born one moth after race and hasn’t looked back since! Enjoy the video and remember, dreams do come true!
