Alissa Sears from Santa Barbara, California said, “I have a dream of sailing around the world – so I’d say that my ideal place to camp is every place along that journey, blending my passion for adventure with my work in social entrepreneurship and international development…with my pup and best pals alongside! I think that camping is as much about the journey process as it is about the destination, so being able to do what I love, helping people, and exploring would be the realization of my dreams! : )”

Ambar Gorbea from Orlando, Florida said, “My ideal camping place would be near the mouth of any one of Iceland’s dormant volcanoes. They are beautiful to look at (in photos at least but I’m sure the photos don’t do them justice) and even though I would hope that the one I decided to camp near doesn’t become active during my stay, the risk is kind of exhilarating. I can just imagine the Northern Lights reflecting off of the springs.”

Amy Kardel from San Luis Obispo, California said, “My kids and husband do A LOT of backpacking with Scouts and have dared me to join them now that our youngest is old enough. If you vote for me, we’ll be heading up to Big Sur immediately to test out this gear. Moutain Air is across the street from our office and we shop there a lot. This would be a great way to get me in the game along with my kids.”

Dustin Smith from Charlotte, North Carolina said, “I am from the beach in NC…I want to camp in the ROCKY MOUNTAINS!!!!! GO OUT WEST!!”

Emelie Archer from San Diego, California said, “I would camp out on the land I’m planning to buy in PERU – I’d want to scope out where the best spots are to build not only my future house, but communal huts, extended stay housing for friends and family, etc. How better to get the lay of the land than to live super duper close to it? Like, right on top of it =) ”

Emily Chisum from Carpinteria, California said, “Sespe CA, My dad and brother and i would hike in about six miles to fly fish, it was so amazing, fishing and swimming and bonding with family, he is in Texas now and brother is in HI so I am finding new people to play with. When your hiking and really getting to the point where there is no turning back only making camp for the night and the stars come out with no city interference it is magical. the crisp air, crackling fire and farting boys make it that much better, I now have a 3 year old son who I cannot wait to share my childhood experiences with. (his dad cannot be the only cool one);).Good luck to all!”

Erin Desharnais from Santa Barbara, California said, “I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE backpacking and camping high up in the mountains of the Eastern Sierras: 12,000 feet, next to a high alpine lake, full moon, and my Mountain Sisters (my backpacking girlfriends)!”

Jacob Romberg from Duluth, Minnesota said, “The boundary waters. Now that my family and I have relocated to Duluth we are closer then ever to explore and camp in this beautiful area.”

Jake Blackwell from Colonial Heights, Virginia said, “I would camp in the mountains. The beautiful scenery just isn’t enough to describe the reason for my wonderous feeling of overwhelming joy. from the raw thrill of exploring the unknown to the majestic calmness of watching a river pass its way through time, camping in the mountains would be the ultimate and ideal place to camp.”

Kaitlynd Carroll from Nipomo, California said, “God Bless (:”

Katy Davis from Beaufort, North Carolina said, “On the Pyrenees coast around the French/Spanish border with a few friends. Close to awesome hiking, kitesurfing, food, wine, and inspiration. “The center of the universe” according to Salvador Dali. Hard to contest that…”

Marci Claude from Gatlinburg, Tennessee said, “I live, work and play at the foot of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My husband and I have set the goal of hiking all 800 miles of the GSMNP. Not impossible for a couple 50 somethings! We would have an incredibly good start with that gear! ”

Matt Parisi from Marlton, New Jersey said , “Anywhere on the appalaichian trail, preferably all along it!”

Michael Perkins from Phoenix, Arizona said, “Sedona AZ, because it’s close…”

Stephen Schumacher from Longmont, Colorado said, “I would camp out on the coast of Vanuatu. I would love to travel across the world for a trip and to be on the beaches over there would be one of the greatest experiences. The water is as blue and clear as it could possibly be.”

Marie Dyste from Atascadero, California said, “Grand Canyon because I have traveled all over the world yet never been there. I love backpacking and being one with nature.”

Andrew Prunk from Unionville, Connecticut said, “I’m a thrill seeker, and I’ve always dreamed of camping on a rock face, in one of those small hammock-like tents that you attach yourself to the rock. Where? Not too sure–I don’t know too much about climbing locations–but somewhere exotic would just be absolutely amazing. I love rock climbing and free climbing at local spots around my town, and think that camping on a rock face during a multiple day climb would elevate (no pun intended) my experiences incredible amounts. That is definitely my ideal place to camp.”
