Sound Tribe Sector 9 is premiered in this week’s Music Monday!
The instrumental band known as STS9 is a genre blending machine that focuses on rock, electronic, funk, jazz, psychedelia and hip hop. All the ingredients for a great time are provided by the musical backgrounds of the individuals within the band. Forming over a decade ago, STS9 has risen to the forefront of the music scene with headlining performances at major music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, Electric Forest and many more! The Tribe averages around 5,000 tickets sold per city they play in and have had performances with Snoop Dogg, Bassnector, Thievery Corporation, Pretty Lights, and countless other well known bands. The members of the band consist of Hunter Brown (guitar/midi keyboard), Jeffree Lerner (percussion/handsonic), David Murphy (bass/midi keyboard), David Phipps (keyboards), Zach Velmer (drums). The members of this band all have a beautiful outlook on life and constantly look for new ways to help the community. STS9 has partnered with a variety of non-profit organizations throughout their career such as Conscious Alliance to bring food drives to various concerts and festivals on their tour. In 2005, Tribe put on a benefit concert that raise $20,000 for the Hurricane Katrina victims! With a distinct loyal fan base, STS9 has gained recognition in every state and is growing rapidly each and every day.
